HANDCRAFT

Understanding Handwoven Textiles

Handcrafted textiles follow a completely different logic from industrial garments.

Each piece is created manually on traditional wooden looms by artisans in Peru.

Time and process

Unlike industrial production:

  • There is no automation
  • Each step is done by hand
  • Production is limited

This means no two pieces are exactly identical.

Material and technique

Using natural fibers such as Pima cotton or alpaca, the fabric is built thread by thread.

This results in:

  • Unique texture
  • Subtle variations
  • High material quality

Why it matters

Understanding handcrafted textiles is key:

The value lies not only in the material, but in the time, technique and cultural knowledge behind each piece.
